Seña is a single-estate, single-wine operation in the Aconcagua Valley, founded in 1995 by Robert Mondavi and Eduardo Chadwick of Errazuriz. It was one of Chile's first icon wines and is benchmarked against the greatest wines of Bordeaux and the top Super Tuscans, often winning top spots in blind tastings. One of the cult wines alongside the Clos Apalta and Almaviva.
"This 2015 Seña could be considered a new twist, a shift in the wine’s style. Although winemaker Francisco Baettig has been making adjustments for almost a decade now, it’s most noticeable in this vintage. They harvested a couple of weeks earlier, used a third less new oak, and aged 12% in foudres. The alcohol has also dropped at least a degree to 13.5, an unthinkable number for an icon wine 10 years ago. This Seña delivers pure red fruit, pure flavor in a tremendous, refreshing, juicy, and slightly spicy wine. "
